Hohum....lucky there are a couple of new ladies coming out or I'd be closing Wednesday nights...

Details of the the upcoming Christmas Class will be posted later today....first one to post a response on that post about the upcoming class AND refers to THIS post will win a little blog candy (aka scrapbook related prize).

Iris Folding Class Registration!

Okay, everyone…it’s ONE WEEK away and I need to know who is planning to attend the Iris Folding Christmas Card class next Sunday at 2 pm

Cost is $15.00

Bring scissors, regular tape, double-sided tape or tabs and any embellishments you want to use. You will choose two cards from a selection of designs (including some non-traditional stars, circles etc.!).

You’ll go home with some great ideas to use on your own Christmas cards, gift tags or even as embellishments on your scrapbook pages. (Wouldn’t it be great for your Christmas album?)

Please call 842-3132, sign up at the shop (inside Hair We "R") or email me at thescrapbookroom@sympatico.ca  if you plan to attend! Also, PLEASE DO NOT sign up if you are unable to attend. Kits are being prepared for this event so it’s not fair to not show up. (Emergencies excluded).

Dixie's Casserole...

If you were at CROPTOBERFEST, you may remember Dixie's yummy breakfast casserole.

Here's the recipe....

Dixie's Breakfast Casserole

2 dozen eggs, beaten

1 quart of milk

1 pound bacon, cut into bite-size pieces

1 package sausage, cut into bite-size pieces

2 cups grated cheese

chopped asparagus (optional)

Mix eggs and milk. Add meat and asparagus. Pour into greased 9 x 13 or larger pan. Top with grated cheese.

Bake at 350 degrees for about 2 hours (till knife, inserted, comes out clean).

(Now that I think of it, I think maybe she had potatoes in hers. I'll ask her and we'll add it if she did!)

Don't forget the Iris Folding Christmas Card Class coming up on Sunday, November 23, Cost is $15.00 and I'm still taking signups. Start time is 2 pm.

Cinnamon Raisin French Toast Souffle

Mmmmm....this is SO yummy!

Back by popular demand, here's one of our favourite crop recipes again...

Cinnamon Raisin French Toast Soufflé  (from Autumn Pond Bed & Breakfast)

1 large loaf Cinnamon Raisin Bread (chopped -- enough to fill 13 x 9 in. pan) 12 oz. Cream Cheese, softened 6 oz. Butter, softened 3/4 cup Maple Syrup (divided) 10 eggs 3 cups Half & Half Cinnamon Sugar Buttered Maple Syrup (50:50 mix of butter and maple syrup) Place chopped cinnamon raisin bread in a well buttered 13 x 9 in. glass pan. Mix cream cheese, butter and 1/4 cup maple syrup until smooth. Spread on top of bread, leaving some openings through which to pour egg mixture. Beat eggs, half & half and 1/2 cup maple syrup. Pour over bread and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Uncover and bake 50 to 55 minutes at 350°. Cut into squares and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Serves 8 - 12 (I will have to get Dixie's breakfast recipe from her so we can share it too!) Now here's what I am looking for! I need a recipe for 6 to 8 people for a dinner at a Writer's Retreat. It should be fairly easy or quick to prepare or doable ahead of time. It also should not contain red meat. Chicken is okay or vegetarian....hot or cold...so...what can YOU give me?
